Cutright Communication Construction

When Cutright Communications was tasked with shooting a 45 minute paid programming spot, they came to Beyond Pix Studios for help producing the segment at our @Bayshore facility. Beyond Pix created the set for the shoot that included projection, green screen, and constructed elements. “Cutright sent us a sketch, we revised the sketch and created a 3D model. Then we built the set pieces, to spec, from scratch”, said producer Sean Karlin. Check out the set and the construction process in our behind-the-scenes photos.

DJ Tiësto's College Invasion Tour

Musician DJ Tiësto was recently in the Bay Area, bringing his popular techno style to the Northern California as part of his 2013 College Invasion Tour. Beyond Pix's production department provided a multicamera package and crew to help capture Tiësto as he performed to a sold out crowd at the San Jose Event Center.

Mythbusters

Mythbusters is a San Francisco based science entertainment program and has proven to be one of Discovery Channel’s most venerable programs. The show’s hosts, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman are the original cast members, whose determination and curiosities in debunking myths, urban legends and rumors are the overriding premise of the show.

Ranging from well thought out science techniques to outright shenanigans, the Savage/Hyneman methods and antics have earned them a sizable loyal national and international audience, including President Obama who once challenged them to tackle the “Death Ray” legend in which Archimedes supposedly set fire to an invading Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun.

Beyond Pix’s @Bayshore soundstage is proud to host science’s most popular duo as they test another myth to see if the phrase “knowing it like the back of my hand” theory is for real, or just another colloquialism that we all just take for granted. Find out for yourself.

NASCAR

Beyond Pix has been the primary media vendor for Sonoma Raceway since 2009. The last weekend of June is traditionally the big NASCAR race in California and true to form Beyond Pix sent out a crew to capture the event. Using the latest Canon series cameras we captured the heart-pounding excitement and spine-tingling action of this famous stock-car race. This footage is used throughout the year to create the various promotional materials and advertisements to market the exciting events at the Sonoma Raceway.

Best Buys This Season?

We’re all in search for that perfect gift; and nowadays, most are interested, if not confused about hi-tech items. It’s a good thing there are experts to help us sort it all out. Live and on-location from San Jose, Leslie Sobon, Vice President of AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) in partnership with Best Buy offers insights into what are the hottest gifts this season with budgetary consciousness in mind.

Beyond Pix provided the production support and on-location services for D S Simon Production's Satellite Media Tour.

Mobile Studio Trailer

The Broadcast Trailer - a.k.a "Mobile Control Room"

Our Mobile Control Room is San Francisco’s only multicam production trailer. It’s fully outfitted for broadcast SD and HD signals and has all the amenities of a live studio environment, including IT networking stations and air conditioning.

We figured out how to deal with San Francisco’s narrow streets, back alleys and hard-to-access roll-up doors for venues. There isn’t much this trailer can’t tackle, especially when combined with one of our other vans.

  • Up to 8 camera multi-cam capability
  • Isolated audio engineer station
  • Standard or High Definition
  • Webcast Station
  • Engineering Station
  • Complete crew packages available

The Production Utility Trailer

Now what self-respecting production company doesn’t have a utility trailer? After all, with the bulk of gear and props that have to be hauled from one location to another, vehicular space gets tight rather quickly. This 6’X12” cargo trailer is generously equipped with tie-down cleats and a robust shelving unit designed to carry a lot of stuff, from our road cases, to electronic equipment, electrics to support our Grip and Lighting trailer to our recreational toys when we go on a picnic. It’s one of the most useful options we have in our motor pool so when you hire us to be on location, we can bring just about everything including the kitchen sink if you happen to need our cooking set on-site. With this trailer, you’ll always be cooking with gas.
